Sonic the Hedgehog is a beloved household name, made only more popular by the recent film franchise starring the lovely John Wick (don't ask questions).

But something that's always felt strange to me is that Sonic has always been kinda mid. Fans will eat up anything the blue blur releases but most of it isn't really all that good, often times dipping into "bad" territory.

So why is he still around? Maybe a dive into the better games into the franchise can give us the answer we all deserve.
