Answer to the question in timestamp 09:03 - My starting information already ruled out Sector 2 for an asteroid. If Sector 3 were an asteroid, then Sector 4 would also need to be an asteroid, since each asteroid is adjacent to at least one other – not possible, as there is only one asteroid in the band. The same argument applies to Sector 4. Therefore, the one asteroid in the survey must be in Sector 5; and, since it must be adjacent to another asteroid and Sector 4 is ruled out, then Sector 6 must also be an asteroid.
