The "Secret Formula" of Game Design - Kirblog 8/29/15
Despite the title of this weekend's Kirblog, there ISN'T a finite "formula" for success in designing a video game. But, while everyone's away playin' games at PAX this weekend and I'm stuck at home, I answer a question submitted by Harry Milner about the confliction of familiar concepts in a game series, as opposed to taking risks and trying something new. Some say gamers don't know what they want, that they're part of what's ruining the industry's sense of innovation and originality, all of which could very well be true...but where does it all stem from?
