The Secrets of Tarkov’s Updated Ballistics! (Patch 12.12)
2,350Today we look at the impact of the 12.12 ballistics update upon “ordinary” rounds at ranges of 50-200m, where there are some serious changes to the way that we have always looked at the game in terms of armor classes, rounds and penetration values.
There is a new “Tarkov Ballistics” tool out at https://tarkov-ballistics.com/ created by some long time members of the community, which has some incredible data that we can use to understand what has happened in 12.12. This details the changes to penetration and damage at distances out to 1000m, as well as pen chance at 100m ranges rather than the point blank range that we’re used to using from Battle Buddy for example.
This has major implications for rounds that were previous just over the threshold of penetration for certain armor classes, for example 37 pen vs class 4. At 50m+, these are no longer anywhere near the pen chance that they used to have.
