The Seri-Divers: Hell-Divers Inspired D&D: Mission 2: A Cold Blooded Battle.
Video Summary:
Welcome to our little Hell-Divers inspired one shots. This little series helps expand the lore of my main campaign setting but also, give me and the other players some time to have fun with large scale battles.
Similar to the Hell-Divers, the players WILL be Dying over and over again as the Seri-Divers. They are playing an influential military faction with heavy religious roots.
Each time before the actual session starts, I tell a little information about the mission they will be sent out on, and it is up to them to try to assemble a team from their list of pre-made characters that can overcome the challenge ahead.
In character, the player characters that do get selected are being called individually by their leaders because of their skill sets. Above game, the players are trying to figure out what kind of wacky combos they can do and pull off to try to stop my challenges.
This mission they have been informed that it is to be a King of the hill style battle, where they have to reclaim a location, and then defend it for a certain amount of time, but were not told what creatures they would be fighting before the game starts. They only find out/get hints in character when being debriefed.
Lore Intro:
Welcome to the world of Seridae, the finest realm in the multiverse. Protected by the God Teeyig who ascended from humanity during the age of darkness, igniting the sun and creating the stars & moons in the night sky to fight back the monsters in the darkness.
We will be following the first iteration of a new group of soldiers, that serve this realm's greatest protectors, the Seridian Church of Teeyig, who unfalteringly for over a thousand years have dedicated themselves to protecting this prime material plane from all other prime materials realms, and other extraplanar threats such as fiends, fey aberrations and recently added to the list nearly 200 years ago, the undead, after they united with other protectors of the realm to slay the greatest threat from within, the Ashen Lord.
As the years have gone by since the realm's most recent global disaster, interest of recruits joining the church have waned, as the populace have been tricked to greeting creatures of these other dangerous realms with open arms, while still getting repeatedly proven wrong and betrayed by those said awful creatures.
The need has arisen to find a new replenishable kind of soldier, as not everyone with divine sparks are joining our fine protectors of the realm. But rather than convince new recruits, what if, we had more of the troops we already have, of our finest and most dedicated rank and file.
