Mission 7: In what is by far the hardest mission thus far we must defend Wallingford castle from the besieging forces. This mission will hit you with constant attacks, and our castle base has extremely limited resources, so we will have to be on top of our game to make it out of this one.

Mission Guide:
Destroying the enemy siege camps wins the mission, but there are three hidden bases that produce the enemy attack forces. Pushing into those bases and destroying their production buildings will severely weaken the enemy attacks and make it much easier to clear the mission. There is a neutral trade post to the north east of the castle, and if you prevent attacks from that direction then you can secure the trade line and get a late game source of gold.
Aside from attacking these positions, a unit composition of man at arms and long bowmen I find to be the most effective. The English men at arms have exceptional armor making them very durable and the longbowmen are incredible defensive pieces when placed on your walls. I like to keep the bowmen on the walls and hold the men at arms in reserve inside the castle and send them out to deal with enemy siege engines. Getting a few monks in place to heal the men at arms will go a long way in terms of saving you the cost of replacing units.
