FromSoft got away with the lazy & outdated game design for too long. I see why other devs do it, because FS did it for over a decade. No wonder deserved backlash is forcing other devs to patch in something that shouldve already been there. People are fed up.
This isnt the 80s anymore, and these devs gotta get that through their heads. Either dont imitate that era, or reserve it for a "Hardcore" difficulty setting that only 1% of the playerbase will pick.
Again, I doubt FromSoft will change with Elden Ring, but the fact that elitists are scared, some thinking the game looks easier than previous titles, got me curious about any news on the game.
