In this video I show the first 15 minutes of gameplay of The Simpsons Game played in glorious 60 frames per second running on the RPCS3 emulator. This fifteen year old game holds up rather well with modern clarity. The game engine doesn't seem to scale up to 4K resolution however, and seems stuck rendering all in-game assets at 720p with the User Interface being the only thing rendered at 4K 2160p. The cutscenes look decent and are full HD 1080p. The frame-rate is supercharged and controller input lag is lesser which makes the gameplay much better now though.
The Simpsons Game is based on the animated television series The Simpsons. It features an original storyline written by Tim Long, Matt Selman, and Matt Warburton. In the self-referential plot, the family discovers that they are forced to participate in another The Simpsons video game.
