Here are the steps to saving your game properly:
1. When saving your game, always use "Save As" and manually enter in the name.
2. Make 3 or more save files for each of your towns (EA recommends 6-8)
3. Don't save over the same file twice in a row.
4. Don't put spaces in the title.
5. Try not to make the title too long (unless there is a reason you need it for reference).
6. Always, always, always "Save As" and THEN "Quit" when you're done playing.
7. Never use "Save and Quit".
