A NEAT ATMOSPHERE

The notes
+Good points
Immersion at all times
Very true to the spirit of Lovecraft
Good lifespan
Neat writing
Some successful secondary surveys
A certain idea of the autonomy left to the player
-Negative points
Technically late
The action phases do not work well
Quite easy investigation and still too guided
Some blunders of realization
Interface not always up to date.
While it does not succeed in everything it sets out, The Sinking City remains a game that does not lack character. Of course, we would have liked a freer investigation than the one we had been promised, much better controlled fights or a more solid technique. However, there remains a well-crafted, interesting title, which manages to leave at least the illusion of autonomy for the investigator that you will be, and who knows how to be surrounded by a heavy atmosphere and a careful writing leaving make way for choices that matter. A good surprise.
