Rafał joins me to talk about their new Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Preview title Layers of Fear which is quickly becoming THE go-to game for people to play this Halloween given the games focus on atmosphere and scaring the shit out of you as opposed to having to fight monsters.
We talk about the success the game is finding in it's Early Access release with streamers and critics alike falling in love with the game that sits at a current 97% positive review rating on Steam which contrasts heavily to the team's early PS4 offering Basement Crawl. We discuss the lessons learned from a critical failure and how that transititioned into goodwill from the gaming community with the release of Brawl and now onto Layers of Fear!
And since it's SML we take the usual detours like discussing favorite horror titles, whether or not anybody at Bloober Team is crying in a corner from psychological stress, best Twitch stream freakouts from the game, and how Dark Souls is seemingly always used by developers as a relaxation game.
