The SOUTH PARK: SNOW DAY! Gameplay trailer just dropped and oh boy does it answer a lot of questions. The biggest one being What the hell is this game even about? We didn’t get too much information with the announced trailer so I’m sure we’re happy that we’re getting some additional knowledge here. Firstly I think the game looks way more graphically appealing now that we get more footage. Personally I preferred the 2D style of the RPG games but I’m not mad at this 3D style we see here. The main objective of the game seems to be to play online with lots of different people and defeat the enemy as a massive attack is going to be launched on your kingdom. Eric Cartman specifically says we have to take them out before they kill us all so I’m wondering if it's kind of like a team vs team last man standing type of thing or if it's gonna be whoever gets the most kills in a certain amount of time wins. Either way I'm definitely still getting happy wars and plants vs zombies garden warfare vibes and I loved that game so I think this could be fun. The only thing I think I didn’t get to see was different types of combat. All the kids are hitting each other and flying around but we don't really get to see anything like classes of fighters. For example plants vs zombies garden warfare had different types of plants to play as that all played different and had their own pros and cons. We do get to see different kids using different weapons though so maybe it's already being hinted at and maybe what makes each kid different in the game is their choice of weapon. Token is also selling weapons so maybe you can change your class and level up each weapon to unlock new ways to use it which would be amazing. It would add to the longevity and experience of the game so I hope we get to see something like that and maybe a level up system for your character as well. I like that we get some stick of truth elements with Cartman pretending to be the wizard king and all the other main characters in their roles as well. We do get to see some cutscenes on top of the call to action of killing them before they kill us, but we don’t necessarily have a story shown as of yet. It worries me a little because the South Park games are known for their amazing stories and I’d love for that to make a return. But this type of game usually doesn't need a detailed story to be fun. However if the south park team could fit in some sort of story it would be amazing in my opinion. Based on what we see though there definitely will be a bit of story involved I'm just curious how much. But on the positive side we get Cartman's and Jimmy’s commentary through the whole game like the trailer shows it will be super funny for sure. The game definitely has the potential to have the perfect blend of gameplay and South Park shenanigans.
