The Spooky Hawkins' Mansion! | Call of Cthulhu | Part 2 | Let's Play
Officer Bradley discovered Pierce within the old warehouse as Pierce was examining a painting by the late Sarah Hawkins. With his own doubts Bradley offers to take Pierce up to the old Hawkin's mansion despite the hostility within the town. The Mansion itself is falling apart, long before the fire engulfed the family. Outside lie the graves of the Hawkin's family with Charles's, the father, grave vandalized. Silas Winchester, the groundskeeper and caretaker of the Hawkin's family still hangs around, keeping every one out in order to respect the dead; he also confronts Pierce with an axe. With some negotiation Pierce coaxes a key out of him which allows us access to the mansion. Inside, Pierce discovers that there was an argument due partially to some strange dinner choice still lying upon the table. He also comes to the conclusion that the fire was no accident. A smashed oil lamp indicates that there was physical confrontation and scorch marks along the wall tell him that someone tried to flee the scene. There's more here than what meets the eye. Upstairs, in Sarah's art room there's strange markings adorning the floor along with even more scratch or scorch marks. What strange rituals occurred in this room? In Simon's room Pierce discovers that the boy, too, was having night terrors and his parents were giving him heavy prescription sleep aids. Upon opening the last door, Pierce is greeted by a painting of himself. As he examines it he is attacked by a robed and hooded figure and gives chase as the perpetrator flees with a painting under his arm. Bradley saw nothing which tells Pierce that the thief knew of another way. Upon examining the now open door of Charles Hawkins office they find a well hidden door that leads into a secret cave. What was Charles hiding?
