4Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open-world action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. Released in 2018, it's set in 1899, during the decline of the American Wild West, and serves as a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption (2010).
You play as Arthur Morgan, a senior member of the Van der Linde gang, a group of outlaws on the run after a botched heist. The story follows Arthur as he navigates the challenges of loyalty, morality, survival, and the inevitable collapse of the outlaw way of life. Players also interact with iconic characters like Dutch van der Linde and a young John Marston, the protagonist of the first game.
The game features a vast, richly detailed open world with dynamic weather, wildlife, and NPCs that respond to your actions. There are countless side activities like hunting, fishing, gambling, bounty hunting, and horseback riding, as well as a complex honor system that changes how the world reacts to Arthur based on your choices.
With its cinematic storytelling, realistic graphics, and deep emotional themes, Red Dead Redemption 2 is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time.
