The Surfer currently holds the distinction of being the 2nd to last title to be released for PS3, and is currently the LAST PS3 exclusive title. The game was released back in December 2017 by Bungarra Software, an Aussie indie developer.

As the name implies, the game is a surfing simulator along the lines of Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer. There are several different game modes, including a single session mode where you compete against two other AI surfers for the highest score, a Championship tour mode which is an extension of the single session mode but traveling around to different stages to unlock them. There is also a Free Surf mode, which allows you to surf alone to practice the game, or just to simply chill out and enjoy some surfing. The game also includes a 2 player split-screen mode. Bungarra are also currently at work on DLC for the game, which will add several more game modes and three new areas to surf at.

If any of the developers from Bungarra happen to see this, there are a few things that I think it would be cool to add into the game to tweak the experience a bit:

- It might not seem like much, but I think it would be really cool if the music was randomized when you go from level to level. There are about 20 different music tracks in the game, but I find that I end up only really hearing the first four tracks or so before loading in a different level.

- Perhaps adding the option to tally scores on a trick by trick basis (Like Tony Hawk) instead of totaling up your best two combos for a hi-score. I found myself confused when I first started playing that I was doing combos but not seeing anything added to the scoreboard, it wasn’t until I looked at one of the videos Bungarra uploaded on their own channel that I finally figured out how this worked.

- I’m not sure what was going on in the Jetski level here, but when I was pressing X the jetski wasn’t accelerating. I haven’t had this issue when playing before, so I’m wondering if it might be some kind of bug.
