About the Game:
Developed by Frogwares, "The Testament of Sherlock Holmes" is part of the Sherlock Holmes video game series. It was released in September 2012 after being delayed from its original 2010 release date. The game is designed primarily for consoles and features a new graphic engine and gameplay mechanics that enhance the player's experience of solving mysteries as the iconic detective.
Set in the London in 1898, between the events of “Crimes & Punishments” and “The Devil's Daughter”, Sherlock Holmes solves what appears to be a simple robbery scheme, only to be presented as the main suspect in a case in which he is unable to prove his innocence. With Scotland Yard on his heels, Holmes must play a dangerous game navigating through a series of complex investigations, interrogating suspects, evading the police, and straining the trust of his friend Dr. Watson in order to uncover the sinister truth behind the accusations against him, and confront the dangerous characters who framed him.
The game received mostly positive reviews. GameSpot awarded it 8 out of 10, while Game Informer awarded it 7.5 out of 10. The game has been noted for its engaging story and the depth of its gameplay mechanics, appealing to fans of the detective genre and adventure games alike.
