24Every major video game company always seems to fall for the โ3rd console curseโโฆ Nintendo got it with the N64, Sega was basically buried by it with the Saturn, and Sony had a taste of it with the PlayStation 3.
The PS3 was Sonyโs first misstepโฆ at the beginning it was rough to be a PS3 owner. Maybe it was sheer arrogance on Sony's part after the record breaking success of the PS2, or maybe they were banking on the systems Blu Ray player to carry its sales like DVDs had for the PS2. Whatever it was, it was ugly and Sony came out of it looking completely out of touch.
