The Third Edict Changed My Mind About PoE 2
Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict (Patch 0.3.0) first impressions and review — after being frustrated with Dawn of the Hunt (0.2), this patch has finally changed my mind. From better drops and a crafting overhaul to new maps and sprinting, here’s why 0.3.0 feels like a strong step in the right direction for PoE 2.
In this video I cover:
✅ Early game balance (Acolyte struggles vs strong minions)
✅ Drop rate improvements and smoother power curve
✅ Deterministic crafting through essences and Abyssal crafting
✅ Sprinting and pacing fixes (clunky but a huge QoL win)
✅ Defenses feeling weaker vs GGG overtuning (especially Abysses)
✅ Endgame changes with 25 new maps — better variety but still buggy and sprawling
If I had to score this patch, I’d give it a strong 7/10. It’s not perfect, but it’s the first time I’ve genuinely enjoyed PoE 2 — and I’m planning to roll one of every class this league.
