Red Bull are rapid, and Aston Martin… aren’t. So what’s the difference?
The cars aren’t that different. They both have the same components, but with some small differences that make enormous gains on the track.
So let’s go over them, and see what the top teams are doing that the lower teams aren’t.

We took the fastest car this year, the Red Bull, and the *slowest*, Aston Martin, and analysed their approaches to find out what makes that crucial difference.
But why did we pick them?

I think very few people would me the best car out there at the moment is the red. With its ripple power trains, Honda power unit in the back. I think that's the one that's been the most consistent, most reliable, uh, maybe not the quickest over a single lap, but certainly in race performance. And really that's where it counts.
