A spontaneous improvisation, on my magnificent recreation, of the tortoise shell lyre of Classical Greece - custom made for me in modern Greece, by Luthieros:

Unlike their commercially available models, which have a replica tortoise shell of epoxy resin, produced from 3D scans of some of the actual Greek land tortoise shells, abundant in the nearby forests, (shed from animals which have died long ago from natural causes); this custom model, for extra authenticity, uses one of these actual naturally available tortoise shells, gut strings & even a plectrum of carved bone!
