IT Chapter Two: The Backstory And Origins of Pennywise The Dancing Clown

“Eater of Worlds” is a pretty powerful nickname but Pennywise the Dancing Clown is a pretty powerful ancient being of unimaginable horror. Although he has many different transformations under his belt, we all know what we’re looking at is a watered-down version of the Deadlights modified for our puny human brains. But was there a real circus performer like the one we saw at the home of Mrs. Kersh in Chapter Two? We’ll take a look at what the IT novel by Stephen King has to say on the topic and how it differs from the version of the characters we saw portrayed by Bill Skarsgard. Does this ancient being have a tragic past and how might it affect its different transformations? Although this creature has shapeshifting abilities, it’s unclear whether there was ever a true Bob Gray. The Derry Disease only has one being it considers it's equal and that’s the turtle Maturin who suffers a sad fate in the book. Could this have had something to do with the character's mental state in the second movie? It’s possible being defeated by the Losers Club wasn’t as terrible of an outcome as you might think.

Do you think we know enough about the backstory of this infamous nightmare creature or is there more you’d like to see in another movie? Let us know what you think in the comment section and then click on the subscribe button for more videos from us here at CBR.
