Randomly decided to start playing through Ultimate Doom, which I haven't done in quite some time. In fact, I am unsure if I ever finished the fourth chapter..

I'm using Chocolate Doom to recreate the original feel of the game, and no I won't change my mind about it.

I don't claim to be a pro at the game, and nor do I intend to impose any sort of challenges on myself... other than playing on Ultra-Violence. For 'for fun' runs in the past, I always played on Hurt Me Plenty. UV was reserved for games started that I intended to eventually finish (whether or not that happened is another story).

I'm also a bit rusty as I haven't played an FPS in general in a long time, but I think I'll manage just fine. Besides.. I should get better as I go along, right?

And so the original Doom ends very anti-climatically. I was expecting to die at least once here, or at least have to earn the win in some fashion. I wasn't at optimal health and I knew the boss used a beefed up chaingun.. so I was expecting something different. ...Starting to see why everyone jumped on the Cyberdemon bandwagon.

Anyway, I guess next time we'll see what the fourth chapter, Thy Flesh Consumed, has to offer.
