Hello and welcome to episode one on The Valley The Old Farm by Black Sheep Modding.
We are moving here from Ballam Road Dairy Farm. All our equipment was transported here from our old farm. We are also bringing 122 dairy cows. 64 cows are 12 months old 58 and new calves. We sold the rest of our animals and raised €998,000 over winter on the last episode of Ballam Road Dairy.
We used €494,472 to purchase the new farm here at TVTOF and €440,904 buying 3 fields. We have €63,379 remaining in the bank. We are starting in April as we left Ballam Road in March. We are playing with Seasons, Weeds and precision farming on with 2 Day months.
After the opening of the episode where we start off on our old farm loading up the cows and arriving at our new farm, unloading the cows, having a quick look around at our equipment and buying our new land, we start mowing our two grass fields using Krone EasyCut mowers attached the the Fendt 930. After both fields are done, we start drying followed by raking the the dried grass in one field. Then we make round bales of hay using the Vicon Fastbale. We load up the bales with an Anderson bale collector and store them In the loft of our shed using the telehandler and skid steer.
We will get the cows fed in the next episode, continue making hay in the second grass field, purchase some sheep, and start drilling corn to make maize silage later in the year.
