A week after watching the Red Sox season end at the hands of the Cleveland Indians, I finally sit down to talk about what I liked and what I didn't like about a Red Sox team that appears to be on the rise moving forward.

While replacing Big Papi will be tough, the Sox other young players showed that they could step up -- unfortunately they couldn't deliver when the games meant the most.

In this rant, I talk about how this team stacks up against other Red Sox playoff teams of the past (not just the World Series winning teams) and if I think this core can stick around for the long haul.

I also discuss whether or not the Red Sox wasted the potential they showed this season, with so many productive years and all stars from players all over the lineup.
