The Wise Man and the Foolish Man (for Beginner's Piano)
Another of my beginner's piano arrangements, although I took a slight detour with this one. Instead of just playing the right hand the first time, and then adding the left hand, I tried using the left hand playing basic chords. If you're learning this and your hands aren't large enough to reach all four notes in the chords, you can ignore the top note and just play the bottom three. To play the last chord, lay your arms across the piano keyboard. (I also added the lyrics for this one.)
The song is "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man," by Ann Omley, written in 1948 as a hymn for children. The lyrics are a retelling of the parable about the wise man and foolish man; Jesus concludes his famous Sermon on the Mount with this parable. The parable itself can be found in Matthew 7:24-27, and here's what that says: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (NIV)
