The Witcher 3 | Uber Settings | GTX Titan X BenchMark (Needs Input On GPU Temps FROM TItan X OWNERS)
3Just Got The Titan X, Need some help with these benchmark numbers. Other Marks I've seen runs @ 61-67 degrees. All my games seems to run at 83 degrees always my RAM usage is much lower than when I had my GTX 690. Also the Vram usage is no where near what I see others are doing. GPU Usage is fine and right where it should be. If anyone can offer some advice please let me know. I have FANS where they should be (push Pull), just don't understand what's going on here.
I have noticed that if you run the fan speed @ 80% before gaming, then the card will real its peak. The card seems to have a cut off, that lowers boost clock, once it hits 83 degrees, because that's its built in temp threshold cut off. Because the card is hitting 83 degrees right away, it allows for the card not to reach its full potential. Therefore its sorta bottlenecking itself. I'm running some more test but I have an idea what the issue is and I'm thinking of returning this card, if that's the case. basically, not impressed.
Final Conclusion (Problem Found)
The card is basically being throttled by itself. I think its the fan sensors milt be off. Because if you look at my RAM its under performing along with the Vram. The Ram is suppose to be 7-8GB and the VRAM is suppose to be 2.3 GB atleast. The explanation is even more longer than this, but I figured out the issue for sure. The card is starting out at its PEAK TEMP, because of that its telling the system that it can take no more and so needs to lower boost clock, lowering boost clock, means the card starts out at a disadvantage and it will never get to its full potential. The only way to get it to where it should be performing is to run the fan @80%, BEFORE you start to game. When I do that it seems to perform as it should and then the Temps are down to 47-60 degrees c, like it should be. This tells me that there is something wrong with the fan sensors. that is my problem in a nutshell.
