The Wizard World Online is a MMORPG for PC set in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe. Players attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry between the First and Second Wizarding Wars, in the 1982-1983 school year, as witches and wizards of their own design. PVE quest content will expand the Harry Potter narrative, while seasonal ‘House Cup’ competitions between the four Houses of Hogwarts, which are also the game’s player factions, will drive the PVP experience. Quidditch will be a complete sports game experience with robust matchmaking and custom, modular gear.
The story of The Wizarding World Online begins at the start of the 1982-1983 school year at Hogwarts. It’s the first class to enter Hogwarts since the defeat of You-Know-Who. The Boy Who Lived is just two years old. While there’s a sense of relief and rebuilding, the scars left by the First Wizarding War are still fresh, and the incoming class has known little but their wizarding parents’ fear.
