Theatre Round-up 2021 : Cultural Survival In Another Year Of Pandemic
Even though 2021 was a more 'open' year than 2020 I actually saw less live theatre! Mostly, I think, due to lockdown still being in place in the first few months, which are normally a frenzy of new smaller, 'fringier' and touring shows.
Nonetheless the wonderful people who create and present theatre came back in the spring with a raft of exciting work that made returning to 'in person' theatre the truly magical experience it should be. This short video is just a record of the shows I saw (both live and online) in 2021, and hopefully serves as a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the people who worked through their own difficulties to create and deliver the 'magic'.
Now, as 2021 ends, we are still fearful of restrictions returning but I will try to stay hopeful and look forward to being taken on more wondrous journeys in 2022 and beyond.
