I spoke with the prescriber and made my preferences heard, they told me they weren't comfortable using benzodiazepines like Xanax as a front line measure to start out with due to a tolerance building effect, and cool, I've heard it can happen with my Diazepam but I haven't experienced it after years of being medicated. It turns out, Xanax and it's 'tolerance' seems to exclude what I need it for with treatment as far as research is concerned... but I can't even get it addressed or answered up front - I stop Abilify now (last dose was 7/22/2025 and I'm writing this 7/23/2025) and I can already feel it winding down though I understand it can take a few days. Next round I'm hoping we consider my needs and what I've spoke about as I feel like we weren't sure I was telling the truth, which is what I got out of tone and treatment, and more like I was drug seeking.
If any of you know why people seek out Xanax due to addiction, please let me know so that I can avoid both being discriminated against and from that very addiction myself, thank you!
