The division of power between central and estate government exists in threefold distribution of power. There are three lists Union List, State list or Concurrent List.
The subject fall under Union List are controlled by the Union Government, subject come under state list are controlled by state list and on Concurrent list's subject both the in central as well as state government can make laws.
