There is no such thing as ABuse in War Thunder「Archive」
Note: This is all in the past, so Voyle probably set the video to private for that reason. I am reuploading as a channel that was originally meant for archivals/references. Please do not attack any users involved in this clip.
Context: Its 2015, and Gaijin recently implemented a feature commonly referred to as "Join In Progress" (official label is in options - main parameters - common battle settings - "Join already active battles") that allowed users to join a battle after it had begun. It had some... unintended functions, that allowed a player to leave and rejoin the same battle, which is what you see in this clip.
A critical event relating to the sky police protests in the past featuring LookBlueGoPurple (commonly referred to as LBGP), a fairly good pilot in war thunder that had a unique reputation equivalent to the entire F4WRD squadron, only in sim.
Similarly to F4WRD, he exploited various gameplay mechanics, some of which still has not been sorted, and has since been given a written warning and a temporary account suspension, and has since toned down his attitude.
There was (and for some part) a massive dislike for bombers with gunners, due to their exploit potential through mouse aiming. Bombers in the past had essentially identicle BRs to RB and AB, and were consequently much lower than it is today (e.g. B-17G was 5.3, while A6M5 was 5.0) and when events were being run, they ran from limited vehicle lineups similar to ground forces today (at this upload time) and some events were quite... cancerous, the most notorious being [Operation] Iwo Jima, which in accordance with history, US vs JP, only that US has 3 more players than JP, and they had the B-24 liberator, hellcat, F3F, F4U-1 series, TBF and SBD, while japan had planes like the D3A (yes that piece of cr@p naval bomber), A6M2/3, Ki-43(II, whose .50s absolutely sucked back then, literally worse than 7mm today) and the usual useless japanese bombers that nobody uses even today (ki-49).
To make things worse, there was no restriction on aircraft types in each match, so you ended up having like 14 B-24s versus 11 A6Ms and D3As. Also, .50s had like a 30% chance to oneshot you up to 1.5km away, and mouse aim, and bombers had no cockpits with full 360 view. So yeah, good luck if you were playing japanese.
The "ABuse" and "ABuser" capitalisation is a contractionym of "AB" for Arcade Battles" and "Use" or "User" (player), a term commonly referring to people who exploit "gunships" (basically any bomber with defensive gunners used as an offensive gunship, often these players will put on smoke, sometimes go AFK and let the AI do all the work, or manually use the gunners themselves with mouse aim)
Originally, this clip is the [Operation] Yoo Passage event mission that runs on the Peliuliu map (UK + US vs JP).
Back in these days, there was no Enduring Confrontation missions in war thunder (that was tested for the first time in 2016) and simulator battles still mostly ran on an "event" mission rotation system that ran special events with limited aircraft selection.
Aircraft being capture by enemy airfields was only implemented back in about 2019, and aircraft back then (and probably still do today) can phase through trees when moving at less than 2m/s, and propellers (including helicopter rotors) didn't touch trees. LBGP was basically free to do whatever he wanted in this regards until he got the warning for repeatedly teamkilling players (including famous streamers such as ClassyPax: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3c_BJClMNM)
I don't remember the exact order of this rotation, but if you wanted to compare if you somehow got that information, in 2017 when EC was implemented, the nation listings were in this order:
Axis/Allies (B29/B17E/L Bomber Spam Alert!) (most popular rotation)
RU/GE
RU/JP (Seemingly the most unpopular rotation)
US/JP (B29/B17E/L Bomber Spam Alert!)
US/GE (B29/B17E/L Bomber Spam Alert!)
UK/GE
UK/JP
