These Game Devs Loved The CD-i Games… So They Made A Love Letter To Them!
It’s been awhile, but here’s my review of Arzette: Jewel of Faramore! Arzette is an action platformer that takes inspiration from the Zelda CD-i Games which to me that already makes this game unique. Not many would go for those games for inspiration. Arzette can be summed up like this: The greatest evil, Daimur, been freed from the prison within the book by Duke Nodelki. Daimur splits the Jewel into 5 pieces to people to give them power. It’s up to Arzette to travel, defeat the henchmen, and then Damir. Honestly that’s as deep as it goes and that’s ok. I enjoyed the game enough from the presentation, audio and visuals. The gameplay is what I took issue with as it’s too easy. Indie games or AAA games, doesn’t matter, I don’t mind a casual/relaxed experience, but those boss fights were push overs. I still think Azrette is worth the buy, however if you will only play it once wait for a sale. You get more for 100% and repeat playthroughs.
