In They Are Here, you are a journalist investigating supposed alien activity on a farm. You need to get there and interview the family and take pictures of any evidence.

The movie I was referring to was actually called Communion which was based on the book of the same name by Whitley Strieber. Haven't seen it in many years so I don't know if it holds up at all, just that he scared me a lot as a child.
