'They're learning faster then we are...' Plaything Black Mirror s7 ep4 review
A ex-video-game Journalist Cameron Walker gives a detailed account of his discovering digitised lifeforms called Thronglets which on the surface appears to be the sort of life simulator evocative of games like The Sims mixed with Lemmings. Yet there is more to these creatures Cameron begins to develop a bond with his hive of digital pets as the quicker they evolve the more his sanity and his humanity begins to slip.
This episode is a rather compelling watch, combining the dreaded fear of the unknown common associated with the cosmic horror stories of HP Lovecraft and the nightmare speculative nature towards technology the show is best known for this is the most devisive entry in the series of this latest batch of episodes.
