Thinking Out Loud: My Biggest Issue With The Switch 2
Hey it’s Tarrmu, and welcome back to Thinking Out Loud. In today’s video, I dive into what I believe is the biggest problem with the Nintendo Switch 2—the rise of game key cards.
These physical copies look like traditional cartridges, but only part of the game is actually on the card. The rest has to be downloaded. This practice is becoming more common since the console’s release, and it raises serious questions about the future of game ownership.
With the Switch 2, Nintendo risks moving away from being one of the last safe havens for physical games. And while game key cards may offer short-term convenience, they pose a big risk for long-term game preservation and true ownership—especially once servers shut down.
What do you think—are game key cards the future, or a step in the wrong direction? Share your thoughts in the comments.
