This Arcade1up Mod Plays a lot more then Asteroids.
I got this Arcade on sell. I believe it was clearance from Game Stop, and I think I got it for around $100.00. I new the games on it were old school, and I figured the kids would never play it. However, the cabinet was super cheap, and I love an excuse to Mod something.
I’ve been building Gaming rigs, emulation consoles, HTPC’s, and even some cable boxes, but I didn’t start messing with Arcades until I saw ETA Primes Video on Moding the SF cabinet. I’ve followed his DIY video on that cab, and had a great time, so when I saw this, I knew it was meant to be.
After a Picked it up, I built it, and kept it stock for a long time, until I got a wild hair and said it was time to Mod. I’ve tried to keep with flying and space games on this unit, and I’ve replaced the original controls altogether. I’ve never worked on, or Modded a full-size unit. However, I would love to do so.
This mod was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed doing it. As I said this is a Batocera Build, and all of the games you see me playing are running on MAME, but the last two. The Gundam game is running on a Naomi Emulator (I know it’s in retroarch but I forget the Core check the default in Batocera to be sure) , and Top Gun is running on retro arch also, and also I couldn’t tell you the Core, just know it’s an NES core.
I’d kind of like to do another Demo, however I’m going to try and Pull the video from a capture card, as this video capture method works well to show you the operation of the unit, but video of the game play SUCKED.
For Real, has anyone landed that plane on the Aircraft Carrier? OPEN QUESTION please leave me a comment.
