This Brutal RPG Could Finally Dethrone Skyrim | Fatekeeper Gameplay Trailer
Step aside, Dragonborn. There's a new first-person fantasy RPG on the horizon, and it might just be the competition Skyrim has needed for over a decade.
Fatekeeper is a brutal new title from developer Paraglacial, a team of veteran developers who previously worked on the critically acclaimed but underrated Spellforce 3. Unlike Skyrim's massive open world, Fatekeeper focuses on a more linear, narrative-driven experience with smaller, highly-detailed, and interactive environments.
But the real star of the show is the combat. Forget button-mashing; Fatekeeper's expressive and violent combat is inspired by the physics-heavy action of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Players must master a mix of brutal melee attacks and powerful spells, using the environment to their advantage to best their foes.
With a deep progression system, a handcrafted world, and a focus on rewarding exploration, Fatekeeper is shaping up to be a worthy rival to the RPG king. Can it finally take the crown from Skyrim? Watch to find out!
Fatekeeper is currently planned for a PC Early Access release this winter. You can wishlist it now on Steam!
