My Thoughts on Streets of Rage 3
I had a challenging time playing through this whole game. I understand the North American version is supposed to be more difficult but come on. I, unfortunately, had to use save states for this as it is way too difficult. Streets of Rage 3 for me definitely misses the mark of being a great continuation after Streets of Rage 2. Anyone who is playing this game will see what I'm saying! Anyways enjoy the longplay.
Would You Recommend Someone To Play Streets of Rage 3?
It's sad to say I would have to say no. I think the most challenging aspect of Streets of Rage 3 would have to be the gameplay. To me, they DID improve in the right places for the mechanics of the characters; such as everyone can run now, they can roll, picking up weapons and using them can do something different, and having a grace-free special move bar. To me, this is where the fun stops as the enemies just become way too difficult too quickly. The female henchman who uses her slaps to hit you can drain your health bar in a matter of seconds, how is this fair? The shirtless jacked guys can block, why? Jet has henchmen with him in a boss fight, again why? Odd decisions like this made playing through this game feel like a chore.
What Was Your Favorite Level in Streets of Rage 3?
Stage 1 and Stage 2 are the only levels to me that feel like a traditional Streets of Rage level, with the proper setting, proper enemies, and bosses. You can tell later on in the game that everything just steers away from what a Streets of Rage level should be. They should be subtle as you want to enjoy the gameplay and not over-stimulating backgrounds (i.e. the dance floor).
What Was Your Least Favorite Level in Streets of Rage 3?
It has to be Stage 2, the section with the dancing. The music is awful and the blinking lights do not help at all. Luckily you end up facing an old not-so-favorite boss Mona and Lisa but they're manageable to defeat.
Who Was The Most Difficult Boss in Streets of Rage 3 Aside from the Final Boss?
Every single boss in Streets of Rage 3 is incredibly difficult but if I had to pick one it would be Jet and the gang haha. Jet is already insanely difficult, to begin with, with his flying all around and the possible grab and drop which drains so much of your health. The irritating part of this fight though lies with that his "Rockets" can do that grab-and-drop move too, it's so cheap and makes the boss fight stressful for all the wrong reasons.
