I'm slowly getting acquainted with the modern indie RPG scene, and the more I find, the more optimistic I am about the future of the genre. Case in point, Aegis Force: The Scorian War from Deseret Games. Mixing gameplay reminiscent of classics like Shining Force with what appears to be a story willing to tackle heavy subjects and give us nuanced characters, I have high hopes for this one.
