Today we are documenting the 2017 Gibson Custom Shop Modern Les Paul Prototype Les Paul aka The Apex Headcarve Prototype guitar (not to be confused with the later 2019 Gibson USA Les Paul Modern)
As evidenced on the paperwork, this was billed as the Matthew Kline Headstock LP so I think it is pretty safe to say Mr Kline is the one who worked on designing the apex headscarves for Gibson. I've seen at least TWO of these prototypes before they were refined into how we know them today.
These also featured a really cool all-in-one bridge/tailpiece system
