36Hey everyone, here's the TiHYDP for Dave's 2nd run of Saints Row, the original, not the reboot. I was hoping Saints Row 2 would win the viewer's choice, but GTA5 won instead, so oh well. I wanted to make a death montage for this playthrough, since I was watching Outsyder's cut, and there's a lot of good salt in it, so I made my own version from scratch. The image quality is really bad, even though I downloaded the playthrough in 1080p, so nothing I can do about that, either it's Dave's fault or YouTube Compression's fault.
I was watching Giriel's TiHYDP GTA series to get some pointers on how to approach editing this, since GTA & Saints Row are similar. Giriel counting the car crashes is genius, I wouldn't think to include that, even though Dave sucks at driving. Dave turned off all the music because of content id and didn't want to lose out on youtube ad money, which makes my job easier since I don't need to make audio edits to music, but the game is pretty dull without music.
I rendered this using NV encoder instead of Intel QSV, since I was getting 1 frame encoding errors and motion smearing (even though I turn off resample in both project settings & the clips, but I guess Vegas ignored my settings when rendering in Intel QSV) with the later. I guess I could of rendered 1440p with NV, but the image quality is already pretty poor, so I doubt 1440p would prevent youtube from compressing it even more than it already is, and it encoded in vp9 anyways, so oh well.
I don't know if I'll cover Phil's 3rd playthrough of GTAV, I'm hoping Giriel will cover it, but I might make it anyways from what I saw so far on PoP Restream. I might make a death TiHYDP for Phil's 2nd run of GTAV where Phil plays in 1st person, then wage quits. I will be making death montage TiHYDPs later for Phil's previous playthroughs of Saints Row 1-4. 3 I will include the dlc and Gat out of Hell will be part of 4 if gooh doesn't have enough deaths in it.
For the month of August, It's the Summer of Rare Replay, where I have the rest of DSP's Rare Replay playthrough sampler all month long, 22 brand new videos. One of those is the 125th TiHYDP, which is a death montage of DSP's Banjo Kazooie playthrough, so I hope you all like the upcoming videos. I was originally planning this for December for 25 days of Christmas, but Phil will probably milk Spider-Man 2 until December, so I don't want my plans to be interrupted.
I will also have a 3 + hour compilation videos of Phil's Rare Replay sampler which combines all 20+ videos into one convenient video with timestamps in September.
I hope Phil does play Saints Row 2 later this year.
