T&C Surf Designs was an LJN game that I actually really like. It's a skate and surf game with some solid music and decent gameplay. This is closer to an obstacle course game as opposed to a more modern skateboard game, but it still is enjoyable when you know what you're doing and get comfortable with the controls.

It's also not that difficult a game to track down and doesn't command a high price. I think it's worth giving it a check.
