Big is a 1988 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Penny Marshall and stars Tom Hanks as Josh Baskin, a pre-adolescent boy whose wish to be "big" transforms him physically into an adult. The film also stars Elizabeth Perkins, David Moscow, John Heard, and Robert Loggia, and was written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg. It was produced by Gracie Films and distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The film begins with Josh Baskin, a 12-year-old boy, at a carnival with his best friend Billy Kopelman. Josh makes a wish at a Zoltar Speaks fortune-telling machine to be big. The next morning, Josh wakes up to find that he has transformed into a 30-year-old man.

Josh is initially excited about his new life as an adult, but he soon realizes that it is not as easy as it seems. He has to find a job, learn how to live on his own, and deal with all of the responsibilities that come with adulthood. Josh also falls in love with Susan Lawrence, a 26-year-old woman who works at the same toy company as him.

However, Josh eventually realizes that he misses being a kid and wants to go back to his old life. He finds the Zoltar Speaks machine again and makes a wish to be a kid again. He wakes up the next morning to find that he has transformed back into his 12-year-old self.

Big is a heartwarming and funny film that explores the themes of childhood, adulthood, and the importance of cherishing the time you have. It is a classic film that has been enjoyed by audiences of all ages for generations.
