138This is probably the first map in Book 1 that feels designed to be challenging in some way. The maps before this give a vibe that they were intended to ease the player into the game and teach them the ropes.
I'm a little surprised that an idea like this isn't used more often in the series. We're always racing thieves to chests, but rarely are there a buttload of them, pillaging chests on turn 1 and attempting to run off. Given the recent advancements in Fire Emblem hacking, perhaps this will change soon...
