The Thorn Whip route has proven to be the much faster and more consistent route for the Whip Only category for Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. With just the first completed run under this route, the World Record speedrun time has improved by more than 30 seconds despite a lot of areas not as optimized in terms of movement. With a category that is less reliant on heart luck drops, it shouldn't take too long to get this down into the 37 minute range, if not 36.
