238Thoughts about Marvel Legends Japanese Spider-Man reveal. This action figure is based on the 1978-1979 Japanese Spider-Man TV show, and features a new head sculpt, and pinless arms and legs, but a reused Mr. Fantastic torso. Accessories for Japanese Spider-Man include his wrist web shooter, a web strand, and a couple of web nets that are all painted white. This toy is on sale for $27.99, three dollars more than standard price for a Marvel Legends toy. Articulation on Japanese Spider-Man isn't all that great, and there's no butterfly joints or a torso cut that we see on many modern figures, he still has the waist swivel that looks really old and is an eye sore in 2022. He also doesn't have his praying hands so he can do his iconic pose or the machine gun his meme has become so famous for. I also think this Spider-Man is too muscular, because the character from the show was really thin and skinny. The head sculpt and the web shooter look good, and the feet look like what was on the show, but this needed more work. It's obvious more money is being charged because it's Spider-Man related. Regrettably, this features Hasbro's horrible new box design where there's no more plastic window so you can see the figure, you have to rely on the photoshopped picture on the front of the box. This not a great feature for collectors who keep their figures displayed in the box. Is this worth buying? Is this worth the price? I don't see anything that warrants Japanese Spider-Man costing more than $20, or at the very least it shouldn't be more than standard price. Also discussed are what Spider-Man we'd want to see next. Personally, I'd love to see the Nicholas Hammond Spider-Man from the 1978 American Spider-Man TV series.
