So here are my final thoughts on this game. For the most part it’s very cool. The game looks very good, (could be a bit brighter though I think some of the places are too dark) and the jumpscares are smooth and good looking. My biggest gripe with this game by a long shot is the gameplay. I really don’t like how some of the mechanics are not very well explained. Like guest and three headed guy. For guest, phone says, “lock the door if you see him standing or something” but he doesn’t actually stand. He sits. When he’s on his final stage he’ll be sitting in front of the door ready to burst it open. I always thought that I would be able to see him standing but no he sits down. It wasn’t until susperson89 told me that guest sits down and doesn’t stand. And finally the three headed guy, I’m pretty sure he’s not actually explained at all. All you need to do for him is not shine the light on him while he’s in the hallway. Yeah. It’s that simple. However he is literally (as far as I’m aware) never actually explained in any of the phone calls. I’m not really a fan of the huge difficulty spike from night 3 to 4 or from 4 to 5. Night 4 they’re pretty aggressive then night 5 they’re literally insane. Like fast as hell. It just feels like you’re being overwhelmed most of the time. You’re power goes down a lot because you have to close so many doors, shock Roblox and guest, and hold the light on cleetus. Oh yeah. Cleetus. He has probably the worst combo in this game. Cleetus and three head guy. I’ve already expressed how much I’m not a fan of this combo so I won’t go into it. Night 6. One character. Literally not explained at all. You get absolutely 0 instructions how to fight this piece of shit. All it tells you is “oh we gave you less power” like yes that’s really really helpful thanks assholes. Basically this dude takes the role of every other character and you have to react fast AF. Like sometimes he’ll kill you before you even get a chance to react.
P.S night 6 is pretty much luck based because it’s completely random and how often he’ll come to each place. It’s random how much he’ll come to the doors, how much you have to shock him, and how many times he’ll appear in the hallway. ALL OF WHICH TAKE POWER. Meaning you have to pray that he doesn’t appear too many times or your power is going to plummet and you will die. You saw on my night 6 completion I got lucky as hell at the end with that power. I don’t like how strict the power is either. Nights 5+ are very punishing with its power, you either win in a blackout or you die. No in between. Like In my 7/20 completion, did you see how close I was to dying at the end there??? Roblox and builderman both in the hallway, guest broke the door, noon and spider left thank god, and I somehow survived that. It’s all just luck. And I know it’s luck because in that run I had 91% at 1AM, 75% at 2AM, 40% at 4AM and like 20% at 5AM and I still came that close to dying because I was getting unlucky.
Overall, I personally prefer the first game as it’s nowhere near as overwhelming and is a lot easier to understand. If I had to rank FNaR 1 and 2 I would say:
FNaR 1: 7.5/10
FNaR 2: 7/10
