Thoughts on Nekopara 🤔 l Bad (Eroge) Ramblings
0Ike's thoughts on the Nekopara series. It's great, but at the same time... not. Well, actually, it's still pretty fun to play through.
If you have not gone out of your way to listen to Azuki's purrs, you have to. It is amazing. I don't mean the purr she does when you go into pet mode. That's kinda meh. Somebody give me a mp3 of her purring. Please.
Speaking of pet mode. Man, that is such a useless function. You use it once on each girl and you're done. Now if you can get them to do tricks... that's a another story. Hah.
I said that I liked the characters, I realized by the end of vol 3, Coconut and Cinnamon were very similar to Chocola and Vanilla. The game even mentions it about how Coconut was acting more like Chocola. Then there's Cinnamon undying love for Maple, but since Maple loves the MC, she's totally cool with that and she'll love the MC as well.
When I think about vanilla and why people like it despite it being the same, I feel like it's because there are different stories. You get a different setting with different characters (though they all could be the same lol). You get a "new" love story, so it feels "fresh." That's why I liked the 1st and 2nd volumes (somewhat) of Nekopara. Then when the 3rd volume comes around... I feel like I've seen everything already.

Why, it's a cat paradise!
Kashou Minaduki, the son of a long line of Japanese confection makers moved out to open his own shop "La Soleil" as a patisserie.
But upon moving out, hidden amongst his things were two of the catgirls, Chocola and Vanilla, that the family had been raising. When he tried to send them back, they begged and pleaded until he gave in and now they've opened La Soleil together.
With two catgirls who really, REALLY love their master trying their very best and occasionally failing -- a heartful comedy opens for business!
