This is a short video showing an issue I have with the Thrustmaster TCA Captains Airbus Edition which I received as an anniversary gift recently.

Firstly it is an amazing bit of equipment but sadly (as normal) I managed to get the one defective one in the stack of 1000s made.

After a conversation with Thrustmaster directly they confirmed that the throttle (left) on engine 1 of the quadrant should not slip by itself and is defective and acting abnormally. The slipping of the throttle means that engine 1 will lose power, which is rather annoying when flying single-engine aircraft, manageable when flying multi-engine aircraft, and difficult when taxiing.

I was advised to send it back to the seller, which I have done and they are refunding me so we can buy another elsewhere. Normally I would avoid a product after getting a faulty one but the Thrustmaster TCA Captains Airbus Edition is really good for Microsoft Flight Simulator so I will be getting a replacement.

Don’t let this video put you off, as I said it’s a rare fault and it’s amazing to use in Microsoft Flight Simulator. And I will be finding another online and repurchasing it from elsewhere.
