THE MISCREANTS RULE!!! THE KING DOESN'T LOSE!!
Thank you Melissa McCarthy & Mr. McCarthy for making such an enjoyable cast of SUPER VILLAINS led by PRESIDENT TRUMP, I mean THE KING!
The King doesn't LOSE!!!!
I honestly fond this to be one of the worst movies but with some very VERY unintended redemption, the villains, The MISCREANTS!
Firstly the heroes or more aptly, The SUPER HERO Melissa McCarthy is the entire focus of this MOVIE. she starts off trying to represent the blue collar as nothing more than a beer dinking Chicago bears heavy metal enthusiast and at the same time very down to earth and caring and lovable...up until she gets to the lab where she becomes the most over the top ever talking most unlikable character ever. She also meets up with her school friend and sidekick Octavia Spencer, Emily. I won't spend too much time on her backstory, not because I don't want to but because the movie. Ultimately she lost her parents to miscreants and has dedicated her life to building a formula to give people super powers to fight the MISCREANTS. She has formulated 2 so far. 1 for super human strength and another for invisibility.
Melissa being an moron gets herself injected with the super human strength and of course Octavia the invisible part, naturally.
so throughout the movie Melissa keeps fighting the bad guys and rescuing everybody while Octavia is just in the background barely doing anything. Hell Melissa has sick a big ego that she is even the self sacrifice of the movie but the movie can't even get that right because she literally says that her suit can take the damage. Yeah so there's that...
It is painful whenever she gets on.
Now to the good parts of the movie and what really saves this movie, the Super Villains or plainly put The Miscreants. First we have the one and only love story in this movie with the always funny, MICHAEL BLUETH lol, Crab Man played by the very funny Jason Bateman. Of course he falls very unbelievably in love with McCarthy, because it's her movie. Nobody else gets to have a love arch. Then there is Laser who can harness and channel lightning, played by a beautiful actress so they have to kill her sex appeal by making her look like she has no eye brows and limited vocabulary, because, of course, it's Melissa's movie.
Followed by The henchmen, obviously the comedy relief of the movie and yeah they are frigging hilarious, one of the henchmen killed off halfway through the movie is Ben Spencer, the director and producer of the movie who is also Melissa's husband.
Lastly but surely not the least, my favorite character of the movie, PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP... I mean THE KING who is obviously going to be ALL POWERFUL but also a tantrum throwing man baby that is also an ego maniac. Not because it's supposed to be funny, that would have been fine, but it is because he is supposed to represent PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP.
Any time any of the bad guys are onscreen, you're in for a good time. Any time THUNDER FORCE is on screen, you'll wish it was over already. it always seems to over stay it's welcome.
It took me 2 sittings to watch the movie because of how stupid and boring it was. But once THE MISCREANTS showed up it was good.
I kid you not when I say that Charlie's Angels 2019 was infinitely better than this movie, THUNDER FORCE.
THUNDER FORCE will stay with you for a while and it Did with me. The more I thought about it the more I disliked MELISSA MCCARTHY. Ben Spencer did actually make a very funny and decent movie but what ruined the entire experience was his wife, MELISSA MCCARTHY. She was always the center of attention and always the good guy. She was your classic WHITE SAVIOR. Always rescuing and defending Octavia and defending her, almost as if Octavia needed Melissa to defend the poor damsel in distress. Also the fact that they gave Octavia the invisibility power was pretty weak since in today's social culture white people are always talking for black people. It also makes her character look weak since we mostly see Melissa saving the day while Octavia hides, which she does.
What else is puzzling is that Ben McCarthy can write and direct quite well, when it comes to THE MISCREANTS but when it came to the women, wholly unlikable.
In closing, we need THE MISCREANTS MOVIE!
